Iplicit successfully completes first year surveillance ISO 9001 & ISO 27001

Why did Iplicit initially decide to invest in ISO?

For iplicit, having recently been recognised by the Financial Times as one of the UK’s fastest growing companies and 103rd on the Europe wide FT1000 list, we made the decision two years ago that to meet the growth we envisaged and subsequently met, we needed to ensure we had the foundations in place to ensure we could scale fast, not just in terms of revenue but people. ISO 27001 and 9001 were key requisites that we felt as a SaaS business we needed to have in place to ensure we had the right processes and policies from which to build out and scale. In today’s world, Information Security is an absolute necessity and therefore the ISO certification with the ISMS provides the bedrock from which to ensure best practice is being followed, evaluated and continually improved. ISO provides the starting point for how Security is managed but it also ensures it continues to evolve and meets the changing needs and ever-increasing threats. Through having ISO certifications, our Customers and prospective Customers understand the principles of how Security and Quality is being managed at iplicit. For some it provides total comfort and for others it provides the basis from which constructive due diligence is based upon.

It’s about on the one hand providing the foundations from which our growth can continue to be built upon, ensuring as a company we approach and manage Information Security and Quality Management as an aligned entity with common policies and processes being followed, and on the other hand it provides a level of understanding from which Customers can have assurance that iplicit takes Information Security and Quality Management seriously. Without these ISO certifications, we would not be growing in the way we currently are. All due diligence on iplicit begins with how we manage Information Security and quality of our product and organisation. Further, it provides clarity when we need to undertake due diligence on suppliers and 3rd parties we work with.

The Process   

When the decision was made to get our ISO certifications, we wanted a Consultant who was passionate about delivering a high-quality service but lived and breathed ISO. We wanted someone who really got what iplicit was about and the growth journey we were embarking on. We met with a number of Consultants and were drawn to Compliant for helping simplify a complex process.

Having Mark and the team on call for advice and support has been so beneficial and I cannot recommend it highly enough. It feels as if you are their only client and their speedy response, even if it is a holding email whilst they investigate the question, is great. Compliant have your back and are ready to provide support and advice whatever the question, even dipping into their thoughts and advice when building out key partner agreements.

The Outcome

 It has been super easy with Mark and his team guiding us throughout the year. It feels like you can use Compliant as much or as little as you want. We are keen to continually evolve our ISMS and Compliant are there to help guide and support us through the process.

Was there anything we could of improved on . Nothing immediately springs to mind and I am looking forward to kick-starting the ISO27001:2022 transition.
